Moisture content in pet food is reduced to a low 8-9% in order to achieve a stable end product and reduce its susceptibility to mildew. Pellets containing large amounts of meat with significant moisture may be difficult to dry. Inadequate drying in the center of the pellets can be a problem so drying uniformity and the definition of a drying profile are important considerations in selecting the drying equipment. Pet Food

The production of feed for aquaculture has several challenges, including water stability and high conversion rates while ensuring a low ecological impact. In fish feed production, moisture uniformity is extremely important for the sinking behavior of the pellets. Since extrudate must be reduced to 8-10%, the counterflow principle will save energy and will have an especially small footprint and height compared to other dryer types. It also uses a lot less electrical power than most other designs, cutting down on capital, energy and maintenance costs and noise.
